About Me
I’m Anna Patton, founder of Root + Rise People Strategy, a consulting practice that helps growing organizations build thoughtful HR, Talent, and People Operations infrastructure.
My career began in sales before moving into agency recruiting, where I partnered with fast-growing Silicon Valley startups and learned firsthand what organizations need to hire effectively, build strong teams, and grow from the ground up. That early experience gave me a strong foundation in relationship-building, business needs, candidate experience, and the connection between talent strategy and company growth.
Since then, I’ve spent my career working across Talent Acquisition, HR, People Operations, and employee experience, building the systems, processes, and people foundations that help teams grow with clarity and intention.
Before launching Root + Rise, I served as Head of Talent and Employee Experience at a Seattle-based digital marketing agency, where I built foundational HR and Talent systems from scratch. My work included leading full-cycle recruiting, designing onboarding processes, implementing people systems, improving employee engagement, and creating scalable frameworks that balanced culture, compliance, and business needs.
I hold a master’s degree in HR Management and Analytics from American University, where my work focused on applying data, people strategy, and intercultural communication to modern workforce challenges. My approach blends empathy with analytics, helping organizations make thoughtful, outcome-driven people decisions that support long-term growth.

From hiring strategy and onboarding systems to performance infrastructure, manager support, and culture design, my mission is to help organizations grow from strong roots, with people at the center of every decision.
